Would two different table scapes at a wedding look right?
I cannot decide on less than four colors!! I love magenta, dark purple cobalt blue and deep burnt orange. My bridesmaids will each have their own main color for their flowers and will be wearing black and white print dresses. I'm having trouble tying the colors into the centerpieces. I was thinking about a fire and ice theme. All tables would have black tables cloths but half the tables would be done in blue and purple and the other half in the red/orange colors. I considered the red/orange tables with tall centerpieces to look like they are on 'fire' and the blue/purple tables with smaller pieces with lots of crystals or 'ice' like accents. Any ideas, suggestions, comments that I'm crazy will be welcome ; )
Are you doing flowers or candles? I'd stick a little more simple. You don't want to look like a gumball machine with too many colors--and you have to be especially sensitive with red and orange. Most people do not consider a burnt orange in the same category as red/orange. Burnt is more pumpkin, dark deep orange, than a red orange.
I recommend black or white table clothes with perhaps a blue sheer overlay. That way you still get both colors. Keep your flowers in the magenta and burnt orange. Another idea is to use the dark purple tableclothes and go with a scattering of rocks, flowers, or candles in the bold bright colors.
Magenta and/or orange are good for flowers. You could use flower petals submerged in water. The vases could be the dark blue bottomed vases in cobalt. I've seen glasses like that a lot.
You could go with magenta tableclothes. Then the centerpieces as tall twigs and perhaps white and burnt orange flowers. Keep the blue subtle like blue napkins or blue rocks scattered on the table.
To think about a fire and ice you'd have to see it in person. Rent the tablecloth and go put it over a table of the right shape. Set up an idea of what you are wanting for a centerpiece. Of course it can't be exact if you are wanting an expensive florist but do a rough idea. When you see it live and take some pictures, you'll be able to tell if 20 in a room is going to be far far too much. Keep in mind the colors you can't deal with--the walls, the carpet--and factor them in as well. What do they look like? Will they be an additional color in with the 4 you already like. I think you have to limit it some. Black, white, magenta, purple, blue, and orange is going to be a lot of colors. You may have to see what colors are possible both in flowers and in tableclothes to limit it but I think the magenta purple blue needs to be reduced to one color and the fire orange one color. Then your 3rd would be the black/white print.
