Gold Trim on Fine Bone China Plates?
I have had an English bone china tea service in storage for a couple of years. It has been wrapped in acid free tissue paper and stored in boxes at room temperature. I unwrapped it today and noticed that the gold trim has deteriorated in places. Some of it has turned a little black and some of it has lost its shine and looks uneven. I am worried about the effects moisture and oxidization might have had on it.
How do I restore it without damaging it?
I think it would be best to do some research on a china restoration site rather than ask here and start scrubbing on it with A-Jax or something.
