is this a good diet for putting on weight?
im 18 years old and quite skinny. im about 130 pounds and i want to get upto at least 170-190 pounds.i weightlift 3 times week. and i run 2 miles 3 times a week also. i cant afford protein shakes so i been doing some research and i was wondering if this would be a good diet to gain weight.
Breakfast:
4 hard boiled eggs
1 bowl of frosted flakes cereal
1 bananna and orange/apple
Snack:
peaunt butter and grape gelly sandwich and 1 glass milk
Lunch:
2 meat sandwiches (just regular sandwich meat, (chicken/ham/turkey/beef)
with cheese.
apple or an orange.
Dinner:
usually have spaghetti and meatballs or fried chicken and mashed potatoes. or a can of chili with mashed potatoes or a boiled potatoe.
so is this a good diet for gaining weight. if not can you tell me some other foods that i could eat that are affordable. thank you and god bless.
what im seeing is that you want to gain muscle. try to eat the majority of your day's meal in protein (fish, eggs, chicken, beef, pork, beans, etc.) the fruit and veggies are great also. peanut butter and milk is also great. but i would cut back on the starchy and sugary foods. ex. frosted flakes, jelly, potatoes can make you gain fat and not muscle. push-ups, crunches are good for biceps and abs. lifting weights helps but try to add in another day. and keep running.
breakfast: 2 eggs, bacon, apple, whole grain toast, milk
lunch: tuna, 1 egg, apple, sandwhich on whole grain bread (white is not good) with all the meat, cheese, and try a tomato and lettuce
snack: apple with peanut butter, no jelly for its all sugar, or a salad with white meat chicken
dinner: salad, any type protein, beans, but you could also have anything else. try to switch to whole grain pasta and eat bright colored veggies. when you have chicken do not fry it cause its fatty and unhealthy. yes it delicious but bad.
