What is life like for European royals?
You know how if anyone says the queen you always think of the queen of england even though their is a lot of other queens and kings and royal family's. Kate and Williams marriage was watched by 2bn.
I was wondering what is life like for other royal family's? How many will watch prince Albert's wedding that kind of thing! Thanks 
I am rather interested in other Monarchies, they are every bit as fascinating as the British ones, just not as famous.
Denmark - Denmark boasts the oldest Monarchy of Europe. It's Queen - Margrethe II (or Queen Daisy, as people affectionately call her) is immensely popular. Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie - they are all charming representatives of Denmark.
Sweden - Sweden has the only Crown Princess (female Heir to the Throne) among European Heirs of the generation. I am a big fan of Crown Princess Victoria and I did watch her wedding.
Norway - Norwegian Monarchy is perhaps closest to people; they have very down-to-earth approach. There have been scandals there as well: when King Harald (the current Monarch) wanted to marry Sonja (the current Queen), there was a heavy opposition because Sonja was a commoner. Harald flatly refused to marry anyone else, famously declaring 'it's either her, or no one'. Since he was the sole Heir, the marriage was allowed to take place, and Sonja didn't disappoint - she's a great Queen. Similarly, when Crown Prince Haakon announced his engagement with Mette-Marit (a single mother with not-that-spotless past), there were raised eyebrows everywhere; nevertheless, Crown Princess Mette-Marit is now one of the most beloved members of the Royal Family.
Spain - Spanish people have very special relationship with King Juan Carlos, whom they view as the symbol of democracy. Queen Sofia, The Prince and Princess of Asturias are, Princesses Elena and Cristina are some of the hardest working Royals in Europe. On a personal level, Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia's daughters are real cuties; they'll break a lot of hearts, those two!
The Netherlands - another country rules my a female Monarch, The Netherlands enjoys a sort of honeymoon with their Royal Family. People adore the Queen, Prince and Princess of Orange are immensely popular and even the more controversial figures in the Royal Family cannot spoil the generally great relationship between the people and the Monarchy.
Monaco - the wedding of Monaco's Prince Albert was supposed to be the "IT" event of this year, before William and Kate's engagement was announced. I absolutely loved Prince Albert's mother (Grace Kelly); she was a true icon and had a timeless beauty. Before Albert's engagement, first ladies of the country were Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie; both are extremely colourful figures.
Liechtenstein and Luxembourg - despite their tiny sizes, both the Principality and the Grand Duchy enjoy a very high quality of life. Their respective ruling families are well-loved and integrated into every aspect of the lands' everyday life. Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg and Grand Duchess Marie Teresa are a lovely couple - one of my favourite Royal couples out there.
EDIT: First minister of scotland Glenn quagmire - mcadams is referring to Prince Albert, the Sovereign of Monaco, who is going to marry his long-time girlfriend.
